Numerical Simulation of Reinforced Concrete Piers after Seawater Freeze–Thaw Cycles

The reinforced concrete (RC) piers of offshore bridges inevitably experience seawater freeze–thaw cycles due to the periodic movement tides in cold climates. damage caused by will reduce durability and mechanical properties concrete, then affect seismic performance RC piers. method analysis on numerical simulation is gradually emerging because process conventional experiment relatively complicated, heterogeneity degradation after should be considered. In this study, meso-element equivalent layered modeling was used simulate a low cyclic loading test an pier with ABAQUS software. results were compared experimental results; deviation value peak load not more than 6%, displacement 10%. result matched well results, influence different parameters analyzed through practical simulation. It can determined that decreased 11%, while increased 40% 125 cycles. same cycles, 15% 27% axial compression ratio longitudinal reinforcement diameter increased. As stirrup spacing specimens decreased, remained unchanged, but ductility coefficient 20%.
